Privacy policy.

EFFECTIVE 24 MAY 2026 · CANADA QUANT LABS INC.

Canada Quant Labs Inc. (“CQL”, “we”, “us”) operates cql.ca as a marketing surface for our open-weight model work. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this site, how we use it, and how to reach us with questions or requests.

1Who we are

Canada Quant Labs Inc. is a federally incorporated Canadian company with its principal office in Victoria, British Columbia. We are a spinout of Sunday Market Research. Our public artifacts — model weights, reproduction repositories, model cards — live on Hugging Face and GitHub under the canada-quant organization. This policy covers cql.ca only; the Hugging Face and GitHub platforms publish their own privacy policies that govern conduct on those platforms.

2What we collect

We collect personal information only when you submit one of the three forms on this site:

When you submit a form, our serverless backend records the standard HTTP request metadata that any internet service receives — submission timestamp and your IP address at the time of submission — for abuse-prevention and rate-limiting purposes.

What we do not collect or use

3How we use it

Submissions are delivered to the appropriate internal inbox — partnerships@cql.ca or press@cql.ca — and used solely to respond to your inquiry, evaluate the partnership or model request, and follow up. We retain the original submission in our mail system as part of the conversation history so that the people responding can see the original context.

We do not use submitted information to train models. Free-text fields you submit through the contact forms are not part of any training corpus and are not redistributed.

4How it is processed and stored

The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Canada Central region, ca-central-1) using Amazon S3 for static hosting and Amazon CloudFront for delivery. Form submissions are handled by an AWS Lambda function and delivered as email through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). The inboxes that receive submissions are operated under our domain.

Submitted information is therefore processed and stored on Amazon infrastructure in Canada. AWS may transfer aggregate operational data outside of Canada in the normal course of operating its global network; the submission content itself is processed in ca-central-1.

5How long we keep it

We retain form submissions in our email system for as long as the corresponding business relationship or evaluation is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain continuity of correspondence — typically up to twenty-four months from your last contact with us. You can ask us to delete your data sooner; see Section 7.

Backend request logs (timestamps, IP addresses, abuse-prevention signals) are retained for a short operational window — typically up to ninety days — then expire automatically.

6Who else sees it

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We rely on the following service providers, who process information on our behalf under their published agreements:

We may also be required to disclose information in response to a valid legal process (e.g., a Canadian court order) or to protect against fraud, abuse, or security threats.

7Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law — the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and equivalent provincial legislation — you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@cql.ca. We respond to verified requests within thirty days.

8Security

Form submissions move over TLS to our backend, and emails are stored in mailbox systems protected by standard access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps proportionate to the sensitivity of what you send us. Please do not send sensitive personal information (health records, identification documents, financial credentials) through the contact forms — use email and arrange a more appropriate channel with us first.

9Children

This site is intended for business audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, contact privacy@cql.ca and we will delete it.

10Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as our practices or the law evolves. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page; for substantial changes affecting how we use existing submissions, we will contact you at the email address you provided.
